Weald Country Park

Weald Country Park would host the Mountain Bike events in 2012. The people of Essex have been enjoying the open space of Weald Country Park for more than 700 years, and the remains of an Iron Age settlement have been found on the 500-acre site. Most of the current lakes and tree-lined avenues are the result of landscaping work carried out in the 17th century.

Location
Weald Country Park lies to the east of London, in Essex.

Spectator guide
Seating for 3,000 spectators will be built around the Mountain Bike course in the Park, and many thousands more will be able to get close to the action as the course winds through the mature woods and parkland.

Legacy
All of the facilities in Weald Country Park will be temporary and will be removed after the Games.

Transport
The M25 provides easy road access to the Park, and regular trains run to Liverpool Street station in the City of London.
